DISTRICT POLICE REASI BOOKS ONE FOR VIOLATION OF PROHIBITORY ORDERS

Reasi, 22 January 2026:* District Police Reasi, continuing its strict enforcement of law and order, apprehended one person for violating prohibitory orders related to possession of liquor.On 21.01.2026, a police team at PCP Panthal under Police Post Kakryal apprehended Manohar Lal S/O Giyan Chand R/O Taleen, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, who was found in possession of 12 bottles of liquor (DMB Whisky).It is pertinent to mention that the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Katra, vide Order No. SDM/K/2025-26/81-96 dated 02.01.2025, had prohibited possession and consumption of liquor in various notified areas, including within a 100-meter radius on both sides of the Tikri–Panthal Road. The accused was found in clear violation of the said orders, thereby defying lawful directions promulgated by the competent authority.Accordingly, a case FIR No. 32/2026 U/S 223(a) BNS has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation into the matter is underway.The whole operation was carried out by 𝗜𝗖 𝗣𝗣 𝗞𝗮𝗸𝗿𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗦𝗜 𝗔𝗸𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗛𝗢 𝗣/𝗦 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽. 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 𝗥𝗮𝗼, 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗗𝗣𝗢 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗗𝗿. 𝗕𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗲𝘆, 𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗣 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝗵. 𝗩𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻, 𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦.𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗦𝗵. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘃𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵-𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦 reiterates commitment to strictly enforce prohibitory orders and urges the general public to adhere to lawful directions to avoid legal action.
