Mass Plantation Drive Marks Har Ghar Tiranga and 150 Years of Vande Mataram in Reasi

As part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga-2026’ campaign and to commemorate the 150th years of Vande Mataram, the District Administration Reasi, in collaboration with the Forest Division Reasi, organized a mass plantation drive near the DC Office Complex Reasi.The event witnessed active participation from senior administrative police officials and the Public. Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Kumar Abhishek, initiated the drive by planting a Gulmohar sapling, alongside Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mukund Tibrewal, and other district officers.During the drive, around 100 saplings of ornamental and shade-bearing species, including Gulmohar, Tecoma, and Bougainvillea, were planted along the stretch to enhance the green cover and aesthetic appeal of the area.Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kumar Abhishek emphasized the importance of environmental conservation. He stated that planting trees is only the first step and stressed the collective responsibility of both the administration and the public to protect and nurture the saplings into mature trees.Deputy Commissioner also distributed saplings among participants and local residents to encourage plantation at the household and community levels. Around 200 saplings were distributed during the programme.ADDC Krishan Lal, ADC Rakesh Kumar, Additional SP Iftekhar Ahmed, DFO Reasi and other district officers were present on the occasion.
