Traditional Hiran Dance Revived in Bhaga Village of Reasi District on Lohri Festival

On the auspicious occasion of Lohri, a grand of the traditional Hiran Dance—considered a symbol of Dogra culture—was held in Bhaga village of Reasi district. The dance, which is traditionally performed every year on Lohri, beautifully reflects the rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions of the Dogra community.The organizing team informed that this traditional Hiran Dance has been revived after a long gap, being performed for the first time since 1995. They stated that the main objective of this initiative is to preserve and promote Dogra culture and heritage, so that future generations remain connected to their roots and do not forget their traditional values.The team further emphasized that culture forms the identity of any society, and such events play a vital role in spreading cultural awareness and strengthening social bonds.On this special occasion of Lohri, the entire village was filled with enthusiasm, joy, and vibrant traditional colours, creating a festive and culturally rich atmosphere.
